How to enjoy the Spring. Beginners Guide, Part II

Like good pirates, let's sail to the Caribbean Sea where we can find that characteristic azure blue of the waters in Cancun and of course, where the history of Royal Solaris Cancun, GR Solaris Cancun and, GR Caribe Cancun began.

The buildings are located in the hotel zone of the city, very close to the Mayan Museum, coordinated by the National Institute of Anthropology and History, the museum has three halls, in which it houses a there is a very wide and important collection from the state of Quintana Roo, as well as from the sites of Palenque, Chichén Itzá, Comalcalco, among others.

Welly... Welly... Tell me more! Tell me more!

In the first hall, you can find the burials that have been found in caves on the state's coasts, as well as some vestiges related to the way of life before the conquest.

The pieces found in the second hall are from aspects related to the Mayan culture, such as the economic activities of agriculture and commerce, the form of government and warlike aspects; also, some of the most important cultural expressions such as writing, the calendar and the ball game. Part of this collection was also extracted from Tabasco, Yucatan, Campeche and Chiapas; which allows you to get to know a bit of other cities being in just one place, something like a 5X1 (a lot of cities for one), or if you prefer, you can go for a little trip and visit those wonderful cities as well (as a Member in the Solaris Club, you can get great benefits related to multiple trips).

Finally, in the third hall of the museum, you can find several temporary exhibitions, so don't doubt that your favorite plastic artist can be there too.

Walk for this way

Let´s go to explore!

The city of Cancun has an endless history and a lot of very interesting archaeological zones that will allow you to know a great part of the state an an old civilization. One of the most popular is in Tulum (I remind you that Royal Solaris Cancun offers you a guided tour to visit and enjoy it). Well, let's continue with History lessons. Scholars confirm that the name of Tulum, is a Mayan word that means "wall" or "palisade", in allusion to the wall that is in the place. Tulum is one of the favourite places for tourist and locals because of the location and preservation of its buildings and murals, or at least I really like places like this, which combine color and some signs over time.

Oh! I almost forget… There is another place that I would like to “show” you, Chichén Itzá... Let me tell you is one of my favorites, because you can be a witness an interesting climatic and visual phenomenon. It is located 115 kilometers from the city of Mérida, Yucatán; you can go there by public transport. In the old times, Chichén Itzá, was a place where migratory movements were constant and gathers archaeological aspects of the Mayan culture and other cultures that were generally found in the interior of the country. Now, let's go with the magic part, if you are there in the equinoxes, you can see the movement of light and shadow that goes from the base to the top of the pyramid; where the sun, reflects some triangles that transform into a snake. This effect was result of the correct architectural inclination and the astronomical knowledge... Yes, it is beautiful and if you want to find out more about this, I really advise you to go in person.

I preffer to stay here... Thank you

But if you prefer something a little more relaxed and with less exercise, you can enjoy a pretty place closer, like Delfines Beach, a bit far from the hotel zone, but from my perspective it has a great ocean view. Even there are a lot waves, you can have a lot of fun to swim in it, also, next to it you will soon find the new Hotel Solaris Cancun.

Within the jungle and exotic appearance that you can find in Cancun, there are many options to travel to the nearby islands; such as Isla Mujeres or Isla Holbox, in which you can enjoy the best sunsets in the state and gettin relax with receive an automatic foot exfoliation with its sandy paths. Let's imagine a natural Spa where you can lay on hammocks in the beach. Finally, you can't miss bioluminescence; Yes... This consists of the appearance of an microorganism that when it have contact with the movement, starts to shine (although I must remind you that if there is a full moon, no matter how dark it is, you will not be able to appreciate it); but it's really worth a try. And if you read until here and started to feeling hungry... Walking through the city you can find people selling traditional food like salbutes and panuchos, which are very delicious and cheap. .

If they asked me which one is my favourite one, I really couldn't have an answer, picking up the words of a great friend: “Traveling illustrates” and no matter the time of our life, we can always extract a learning from it and enjoying the particular charm of each place.
