How to enjoy the Spring. Beginners Guide, Part I

Breathe, feel the heat of the sun in your back and ignore mosquitoes… Yeah! Spring is here, even everything looks a like a sea of allergies, there are a lot of reasons to enjoy the day in Los Cabos, but if you read us from the other side of the country (Hello, from the other side…! Sorry I love to sing); we’ll give you a lot of option to enjoy Cancun, as well.

We will start in Los Cabos, it’s interesting to know that between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas there are approximately 25 km with different options for bohemian or partying travelers, as well as for the families who visit us.

There are several beaches along the way, such as: La Playita, located in an old town of San José, very close to the downtown, which is a very good option if your goal is to swim with not too much waves (as if it were a natural pool ) and take a sunbathe, I really recommend it; it’s good to mention, also the beach that you can find in Royal Solaris Los Cabos, that although the sea currents do not provide a place to swim, it is a very good option to rest, enjoy the view and even wet your feet on the shore of the beach.

If I go to San José, What can I do?

Before to take the beach tour again, I would like to remind you two options that you can find in this holiday season; on Thursday nights you can enjoy a craft beer produced in the port by Baja Brewing Brewery (my favorite is the redhead, which is why I highly recommend it); while you walk and enjoy the pieces created by local artists in the Art Walk (event in the months of November to May), and yes... If you fall in love with one the artistic pieces, you can buy one or a how many as you want.

Likewise, if after a bohemian night, which sometimes ends in a party and dance in one of the nearby bars like El Garage or Casa Guaycura; but if you prefer a fancy and quiet afternoon with delicious and healthy food; on the weekend you can go to the Organic Market, which is free and open from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., it’s important to say that for enjoy this space is during the winter and spring months, it is not available during the summer; there you can find several products or food supplements, personal hygiene or beauty handmade and organic; also, a great diversity of vegetables and fruits grow by the community.

Run

San José del Cabo is a place that keeps an old and relaxing essence, like living in a old and magic town with something new in every corner, its streets tell colorful stories for any illustrator, photographer, writer or anyone who walks through them; Before continuing with the tour of beaches, I recommend you to visit its central streets and visit some small businesses with the best of attention; since the warmth of the people contribute a lot to the wealth of the place.

“Falling in love with the seaside” its very pleasing that in the cities there is a place to practice some sports what better is it at sea; for surf lovers, Playa Costa Azul has the best waves to practice and get adrenaline shots; but if you still feel a little insecure or want to further develop your swimming skills; in Playa Palmilla you can find course options or spaces to learn on the beach, although it is also a good place to sunbathe, lying on the white sand that it offers us. I have to tell you that a good way of transport to the beaches or travel from San José to San Lucas; is to take Ruta del Desierto (Desert Route), although if you like adventure, you can "ask for a ride", the distances are usually a kind long, so the citizens themselves consider the option of helping tourists or foreigners and take them to their destiny. Now, if you like animals, as much as I do; Santa María and Chileno are excellent options for snorkeling and see marine life, I recommend you bring your viewfinder and enjoy.

Let's go to San Lucas

Finally we arrive to Cabo San Lucas, this section reminds me a lot of the words of a friend who said that “I should drink a beer in Squid Bar or enjoy a good dance session in Mango Deck”.

Most tourists relate it with a more party atmosphere and it is something that cannot be denied, but there are also more cultural options related to the biodiversity of the environment; Ruta de Desierto will leave you at the San Lucas Marina where you can find several boats with colorful architectures and you can visit Pancho, the sea lion that lives there, if you are lucky you can receive a greeting from him.

Being there, you can take one of the boats that will take you through the open sea to see the famous Arch that characterizes the city; if you like love-heartbreak stories, very close to the arch is located next to the Sea of Cortez, Playa del Amor (Love Beach); on the other hand, the Playa del Divorcio (Divorce Beach), located in the Pacific Ocean, the wonder of this place is to see that collision of waves and the different colors that you can perceive in the water, denoting the duality that the names have. We can say that in The Arch, there is perhaps one of the “last” places on this side of the world, which allows you to imagine how close and far the other side of the world is. It is a place that where all those stories about sailors who listened to the sirens' songs, becomes true, although in this case, you can hear and see humpback or gray whales.

In the Part II of Beginners Guide, you will know more about Cancun, through this colorful way for the seas of Mexico.
